Welcome to Chinmaya Academy of Culture & Arts (CACA) – a platform for all to get connected with our ancient tradition. Under the head of CACA, various short term certificate courses related to Indian culture and arts are offered at ParamDham.

The academy offers courses on Basic Sanskrit, Yoga, Stotram and Vedic Chanting and Geeta Chanting. A course on Puja Vidhi will also be introduced shortly. Necessary study material and references are provided to the students to facilitate learning using latest technology. Teachers who are experts in the field conduct classes as per a set course curriculum and exams are conducted wherever needed. A certificate is awarded to all participants on successful completion of the course. The days and timings for the ongoing courses offered by CACA.

Sanskrit

Sanskrit is the mother of all Indian languages and is the language of our scriptures that contains timeless wisdom. Unfortunately Sanskrit has not got the importance it truly deserves. Inaugurated by Br.Atharvana Chaitanya on 26/09/2017 a course on Basic Sanskrit was introduced at ParamDham under the title of Chinmaya Academy of Culture and Arts. These classes are highly interactive with emphasis on spoken Sanskrit. By the end of the class the student can easily converse in Sanskrit. This is a small step by ParamDham to add value to the society that shall preserve our rich cultural heritage and help people explore the illustrious works & wisdom that Sanskrit language contains.

Ms. Darshita Jaisinghani who is a qualified Sanskrit Teacher conducts classes at Paramdham every week. The course curriculum followed is that of Sanskrit Bharti which is highly engaging and uses active style of teaching that involves, presentations, Q&A sessions etc. The first batch that passed out this year was of 20 students, with the eldest student being of 70 years and the youngest student of 10 years.

Paramdham is also a Sanskrit Bharati Centre for holding ‘Gaurav Pariksha’ for Sanskrit. It is also an International Olympiad Centre for Sanskrit. Two of our students who underwent the Sanskrit Vijay Course were also awarded Gold Medals for securing first rank in their respective age categories.

Duration of this course is 6 Months, where we also provide various required reference material. We also evaluate all participants on monthly basis. The classes are held every Monday-Wednesday-Friday from 2:00 pm to 4:00 p.m in ParamDham. A special class on “Sanskrit Chhandas” is conducted every Thursday from 4:30 to 6:00 pm

Yoga

A certificate course on yoga is offered by Chinmaya Academy of Culture and Arts. The classes are attended by both Mission members and community members. Vaidya Archana Kewalani, is our Yoga Instructor who leads all in her guided yoga practice sessions.

This yoga course is based on Patanjali’s eightfold path of yoga. It is a practice of connecting mind and body through practice of asanas (postures) and pranayama (breathing techniques). Also incorporating meditation to quiet and still the mind. This practice of yoga increases strength and improves flexibility. It also reduces stress and promotes deep relaxation. The classes are held five days a week (Monday to Friday) from 6:00 am to 7:00 a.m in ParamDham.

Duration of this course is 3 Months, where we also provide required reference material.

Chanting

Chanting is a beautiful technique to purify our speech and also integrate our body, mind, speech and intellect. In the Bhaja Govindam Sri Adi Shankaracharya says – one must chant the Geeta and Vishnu Sahasranama daily. (Geyam Geeta-naama-sahasram). Chanting of prayers in the form of Mantras, Shlokas or Stotrams has many benefits. Chanting is a very powerful sadhana that instantly elevants elevates one’s mind and prepares to plunge into higher state of consciousness. Therefore Pujya Guruji – Swami Tejomayananda ji rightly says “Chanting is Enchanting”

Chant. Study. Know. Live. This is the scheme given by Pujya Gurudev – Swami Chinmayananda for an individual to evolve. When one chants, it makes one curious to know the meaning and so one studies. As one studies, one come to gain the knowledge which one can live and transform oneself.

Geeta Chanting

Under this program, focus is to impart very specific and detail training on “How to Chant?” Shri Bhagavad Geeta Verses with proper ascents and meaning without affecting purity and divinity of the same. Very experience teachers who has more than decade expertise over Sanskrit and Verse chanting along with excerpts of Shri Bhagavad Geeta facilitate course.

Duration of this course is 6 Months, where we learn chanting of all 18 Chapters of the Shri Bhagavad Geeta. The classes are held five days a week (Monday to Friday) from 5:00 am to 6:00 p.m in ParamDham.

Vedic and Stotram Chanting Classes

In Hinduism, Vedic Mantra, Namavali and Stotram earn very high regards and possess high degree of power. In recent time, we believe that learning Vedic and Stotram chanting is highly recommended and beneficial for acquiring life balance and spiritual blissfulness. Under this program, we provide training on how to chant effectively, meaningfully and with appropriate ascent and Rag-Tal Vedic Mantra, Namavali and Various Divine Stotram.

Our experienced teachers who has substantial expertise over music and chanting Vedic Shloka and Stotram facilitate this course. The classes are held four days a week (Monday to Saturday except Thursday) at ParamDham as per the following schedule:

Vedic Chanting- 3:00 to 4:00 pm
Stotram Chanting – From 4:00 to 5:00 pm

Duration of this course is 3 Months, where we also provide various required reference material.
