Janmashtami, a festival celebrating the birth of our dear Lord

Krishna is much awaited throughout the year. This year,
Janmashtami was celebrated with unparalleled excitement
and devotion at Chinmaya Mission ParamDham, Ahmedabad.
The auspicious day started with a Vedic Aarti, and
Abhishek. After the Lord was beautifully dressed, devotees
participated in a Rudrabhishek and Shri Vishnu SahasraNaam
Archana. Sampoorna Geeta Parayan was conducted with
much vigour and enthusiasm in the evening, after which
followed a special program loved by all those who were a
part of it, and those viewing it. Both Shishu vihar and Balvihar
children put on a spectacular show, complete with bhajans,
chanting, and skits! The Bhajan Sandhya after added a
wonderful charge to the atmosphere, and just before
midnight, the devotees thronged for a glimpse of the Lord
right after His birth. After darshan and a round of garba, it
was time for the devotees to head back home, with their
hands full of butter, and their hearts full of love!
