Guru Purnima 2022

Guru Purnima which falls in the month of July is the fore runner of the series of festivals to follow till Diwali in the month of Oct/Nov. It is befitting that we commence the festive season by paying obeisance to Ved Vyas ji, who chronicled the epics and scriptures for us. Chinmaya Mission Ahmedabad celebrated Guru Purnima on a grand scale after 2 years. The morning started with a Guru Geeta Havan in which 30 devotees participated. On the request of devotees from overseas, opportunity was also provided to join the havan online.

Mina Gadhavi, a devotee from New Jersey shares her experience: On the day of Guru Purnima, having joined the Guru Geeta Haven remotely, the virtual experience was as real as actually being there. The serenity and the morning ambiance with birds chirping and witnessing the oblations offered by participating devotees was a unique experience. This gave me a deep sense of gratitude and awe towards the tenets of our Sanatan Dharma.

The day concluded by performing Paduka Poojan of Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayanandaji by devotees young and old, youngest being 3 years old and oldest being 82 years old. The Poojan was complemented with a flute and violin recital by Piyush Choudhry and Tanisha Kaneda respectively.
