Hari Om! The most awaited festival of the year, Shri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with love and devotion at ParamDham, Ahmedabad. The celebrations began with Lord Venugopal’s abhisheka, alankar, and melodies of devotees in the morning. The celebration continued with samashthi Vishnu Sahasranama Archana where Balvihar and Pre-Chyk children chanted the 1000 names of the Lord and praised the glory of Shri Narayana.

ParamDham resonated with the chanting of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita during the Sampoorna Gita Paarayan. In the evening, after the aarti and darshan, devotees thronged to witness Bal Gopal’s birth, singing Bhajans and performing naam sankirtan. At midnight, Lord Shri Krishna incarnated as Bal Gopal in a beautifully decorated cradle and devotees expressed their joy and devotion by swinging the Palna and playing Garba. The day-long janmotsav ended at midnight with the much-awaited Matkiphod, where boys and girls became gopas and gopis and broke their respective matkis, as the temple resounded with the joyous cry of all present there – ‘Bolo Krishna Kanhaiyalal ki Jai!’
